After several seasons of cancelled and virtual shows Copenhagen Fashion Week returned to the Danish capital last week and the industry’s most sustainable fashion week made up for lost time with a full schedule of shows, presentations and parties.

As well as the return of Scandi street style, SS23 saw the latest edition of Zalando’s Sustainability Award. Created in 2019 to help accelerate sustainability in the fashion industry, award finalists MWorks and British designer Raeburn showed on schedule, with London and Reykjavík based designer, Ranra, being announced as the winner in a ceremony on the final show day of the week.

Danish industry collaboration to unite fashion brands on circularity

The Textiles Action Network aims to become the first international framework tackling the environmental impacts caused by fashion and textiles. It encompasses the UK’s Textiles 2030 and now Lifestyle & Design Cluster (LDC), which works to promote innovation and sustainable growth primarily in the small and medium-sized housing and fashion companies as well as in the creative industries, and will be representing the interests of the Danish industry collaboration.

The Textiles Action Network brings together businesses, supply chains and governments to work towards one clear goal – to create a circular economy for fashion and textiles. WRAP believes this network will become the most effective way of driving progress towards a truly global circular economy for textiles to both reduce its impacts on the environment and put businesses ahead of increasingly strict regulatory requirements.

In addition to showcasing some of fashion’s hottest brands, this season’s Copenhagen Fashion Week spotlighted the most exciting designers from the Nordic region. From Jade Cropper to P.L.N., we’ve rounded up four brands to look out for and their Spring/Summer 2023 collections presented in the Danish capital.

High-end fashion brand to open at Bullring & Grand Central

High-end clothing, footwear and accessories retailer Tessuti has announced that it will be opening a store at Bullring & Grand Central.

The store, which will be the brand’s largest in the region, will open during early 2023 in a 14,100 sq ft unit on the Upper Mall.

The fast-growing retailer caters for the meanswear, womenswear and childrenswear markets offering a collection of designer brands including Polo Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani, Billionare Boys Club, Mallet, Moose Knuckles and Versace Jeans Couture.

Toby Tait, director asset management at Hammerson, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Tessuti to our growing tenant line-up here at Bullring & Grand Cenral. Every year, Mozambique Fashion Week (MFW) seeks to expand, to leverage national production in the industry and offer its many followers a quality event with a variety of designers and models that add value to the event, to the fashion sector and to Mozambican arts and culture.

Watch an actor transformed by zombie makeup on the set of a Windsor-Essex horror film

There’s a film crew driving around Windsor-Essex this month, and it’s bringing zombies and vampires with it. 

A Windsor filmmaker is shooting his latest movie, Vampire Zombies…From Space!, in various places throughout the county.

“We’re shooting in Windsor, but also Kingsville and Harrow and Essex in the south,” said Michael Stasko, a co-writer, director and producer of the movie.

Vampire Zombies…From Space! is a horror comedy movie, and is a spoof of black and white monster movies from the 1950s. The movie takes place in a small town in 1957, and requires small towns in Windsor-Essex to serve as filming locations.
