Swimwear Brand Gigi C Opens A New Showroom In LA’s The Grove

Since Barneys New York closed in 2019, its Los Angeles store in The Grove has sat vacant until luxury lifestyle bikini brand owner, Gigi Caruso scooped it up. Caruso has officially opened the Gigi C showroom and offices in the space today.

There’s nothing worse than having a large retail space shut down in a major retail area. Gigi C is bringing life back to a space that has been dead for four years. “It is important to us to uphold the legacy of the old Barneys location, to the space that was once home,” says Caruso. “It was an iconic destination for years, and we are so proud to be taking over and breathing new life into the location.”

Caruso, whose father, billionaire Rick Caruso, owns the Grove, continues,

The summit was founded by Laboni Saha, a London-based designer who wanted to create a gathering of those in the luxury sector to discuss ways in which luxury can incentivize customers to make positive changes in their consumerism, that will in turn be better for the planet. “The fashion industry is in a very strong position to influence consumer habits, because similar to food, we all consume fashion, in some form or another. The industry has over the past decades gotten us in the habit of buying based on trends, on

Leigh-Anne Pinnock just posted a no-makeup selfie on holiday, and she looks incredible

There’s nothing quite like that late afternoon post-swim shower on holiday. You set up your makeup on the balcony, crack open a Fanta Lemon and tuck into a bag of Lays crisps. Then, once you’re ready, you get those golden hour selfies. Sounds like pure bliss, right? Well, that and Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s holiday pictures have been enough to get me searching for the cheapest flights on SkyScanner.

“Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below.”

Lipstick can’t make you hit a home run or pitch a curveball. Still, the women playing in the newly formed All-American Girls Professional Baseball League have impeccably high standards to maintain. While Babe Ruth didn’t have to concern himself with such trifling matters, the newly formed Rockford Peaches in Amazon Prime’s A League of Their Own are not so fortunate.

Based loosely on the hit 1992 Penny Marshall film of the same name (which itself was based on the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League), the eight-part series from Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham nods to the original movie with scenes depicting mandatory charm and beauty school. Cosmetic maven Vivienne Hughes (Nancy Lenehan) is tasked with making this group of women “palatable to an audience,” which is met with equal

From Yeezy slides to the CPFM Dunks, Coconut Grove’s newest sneaker store, Hÿp, features an expansive inventory of rare, collectible and popular shoes. In an area with few sneaker stores, Hÿp stands out. It’s also run by a University of Miami student.

“We wanted to make it an experience and create a brand behind our store, not just a store to get sneakers,” said Marcus Sharf, founder of Hÿp and a sophomore studying entrepreneurship.

Hÿp’s first physical storefront has its grand opening on August 20 with a live DJ, special guests and giveaways. The shop is located at 3208 Grand Ave, Coconut Grove, a two mile drive from campus, making it the closest high-end sneaker store to UM.

Hÿp exclusively employs UM students.

How to shop for a vintage engagement ring

When Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton back in 2010 using the sapphire ring that once belonged to his mother Princess Diana, it not only kicked off a trend for colourful engagement rings (still going strong today), but it brought vintage rings to the attention of a new generation of would-be fiancés.

In the years since then, online searches for antique rings have continued to soar. “In today’s world, vintage jewels are exposed to huge audiences via social media, which has led to a growing appreciation for them,” says Henry Bailey, Christie’s Head of Jewellery Department in London.

“Buyers across the luxury markets are also increasingly influenced by sustainability and wearing an antique ring saves on the production of new materials and resources. It’s also an opportunity to acquire unusual and well-made pieces with minimal carbon footprint.”

The literal boulder ring, a 12-carat blue sapphire masterpiece ~casually~ surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds, was given to Kate in 2010 and (fun fact!) has remained on my Pinterest mood board ever since. However, just before her and Prince William’s iconic wedding day on April 29, 2011, ‘Kate actually had the ring altered—as she found the band was too big and “turning on her finger,”‘ according to The Mirror.
