Gypsy Sport Designer Rio Uribe On LAFW, Fragrance And New Brand Name

One of the coolest, cult, underground labels today is Gypsy Sport.

Over the past decade, designer Rio Uribe has carved out a new space for a brand

With its logo, which looks like an astrological symbol, or perhaps an interpretation of the planet Jupiter, we’ve seen Gypsy Sport grow from an underground, genderless, streetwear-focused brand to something more sophisticated. Today, it fuses elements of high glamor with jersey chic.

Since his first collection launched in New York in 2013, we’ve seen his vision as a designer evolve over the past decade. He has transformed the way we look at basketball jerseys, numbers, logos and lace.

Now, Uribe launched his latest collection at Los Angeles Fashion Week. The new collection celebrates Chicano history

Meet Zaldy Goco, the iconic Filipino designer who turned drag dreams into high fashion

At 6 years old, Zaldy Goco had an extraordinary ability to transform his simple blanket into a cape, a tent, a fort or even a gown.

While he’s now widely recognized as Zaldy, a Filipino American fashion designer, his career as a young artist was anything but fashion design. From modeling to drag, Goco’s open-mindedness has granted him an expansive life experience that informs his fashion today—a keen eye which has always seen the potential for ordinary things, like a childhood blanket, to become something extraordinary.

“My immediate instinct even as a little tiny baby was to wrap it around my head,” said Goco, who is currently 57 years old. “I was aware of its softness, and of its satin edge.”

Having grown up in Mountain Brook, Conn., Goco was one of the only Asians at school—the others being his sisters. His best friend was the only Black person

Laurence Carr Launches Eco Design Brand

MILAN — Laurence Carr’s sustainable epiphany occurred in 2014, while working with a top leading interior architecture and design firm in New York City. At a time when the fashion industry was largely viewed as the culprit of the ongoing environmental crisis, Carr realized her own peers were ignoring their industry’s contribution. Conversations about an ecological approach to designing interiors were nonexistent between her colleagues, manufacturing reps, architects and designers, she reminisced.

“As a global citizen who has lived on four continents, as a designer, and as a mother of three children, I wanted a career that had a more meaningful legacy than simply beautifully designed spaces and products. I wanted to be part of solving the problems these industries were creating and foster a positive impact that would live on much longer than my own efforts,” said French-born Carr, who is the founder and chief executive officer of her

Met Gala 2022: What happens inside the event and where do the funds go?

What can we expect?

Today is the second Monday in May, and anyone even remotely into fashion or pop culture knows that means it’s Met Gala day.

With Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Lin-Manuel Miranda as co-chairs, In America: An Anthology of Fashion as the theme and an A-list celeb guest list, it’s set to be one hell of an event, as always.

Held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the charity event aims to raise funds for the Costume Insitute. Tickets for the glamorous event cost $35,000 per person, and $200-300,000 for a table. With the price of tickets drastically rising since the 90s, not just anybody gets to go, only the most elite.

While it might cost an arm and a leg for us regular folk, it’s nothing for those who are invited by Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, and at the end
